I've never really thought about it that much, but off the top of my head, the latest thing that I've been walking around with is this: "Music is a great big resevoir..." John Coltrain said that, and I like it. But I should probably find something more pertanent to life as a whole. I'm sure I'll come up with it on my 40th birthday... ohhh... can anyone tell me the average lifespan? I want to start a countdown to when I will have lived the average lifespan. Just to have a reason to not waste my time... no that I should NEED one.
that's all,
blake
My personal motto (which I stole from Neal Stephenson): "Whenever serious and competent people need to get things done in the real world, all considerations of tradition and protocol fly out the window."
treat em rough, you'll get your muff.
Personal mottos... I have several. Here's a sampling:
"I'm only a team player when I get to be the coach."
"Don't settle for mediocrity -- be serious about having fun."
"When word and deed become one, then you have truth."
"Know your damn role."
"QCT forever, baby."
Be a fool.
"Life's a garden ... dig it!"
Be Fabulous
that is mine. And i would have to agree that 8th grade in many ways still shapes who i am today. i will never forget VOLARE and always listen to classical music when i write. My history Notebook still keeps me company on those study nights and I still have my 8th grade notebook. THat class made me want to be a journalist, she inspired me to write.
Hi, nice blog.
Don't really have a motto, but the best one I ever came across was my school motto.
Gaudet Certamine Virtus
or
Virtue thrives in struggle

rules are ment to be broken
Love the blog. Stumbled accross it after searching out personal mottos for a seminar I'm doing.
'Love yourself, if you can't don't expect anyone else to.'
All we do in life is walk from one little bit of Holy Ground to the next.
Life is fun , then you die.
Mottos limit you, best to rid of them.
have confidence in who you are and what you stand for, you never know who's watching
